Wedding Tips From a Photographer

So you’re getting married, and now have the daunting task of planning the big day. You’ve probably been looking for a photographer, and stumbled upon this page. I’ve got a few tips for you to help smooth out your planning maybe just a little bit.

Discuss the budget candidly before doing anything! Who is paying? Parents, the couple? And decipher exact amounts. This makes planning easy and eliminates any gray area or misunderstandings.

Going along with the monetary theme; If you’re on a tighter budget I recommend creating a list of priority services, and choose your top three. These three services don’t compromise on, maybe it’s the perfect dress, or the food, or obviously the photography. After figuring your budget here, you can compromise elsewhere with your wedding, and still have an amazing day.

It's a little cliche, but I see couples getting caught up all the time in what they think they should do, or what their parents want them to do. The day is about you and your partner and you should have the wedding you want!

Make your wedding feel more personal and memorable. One of the best ways to do this is to do DIY projects with your family and friends. When the wedding day is over, you’ll have so many special memories as well as paper flowers and other cherished projects you can hold on to forever.

Meet your vendors in person! You can obviously fall in love with a photographer’s photos, or pictures of a wedding venue, but if you don’t jive with the actual person, it could ruin your entire wedding day.

Some key vendors to do a vibe - check with are the following:

  1.  - Photographer / videographer

  2.  - Celebrant

  3.  - Venue Staff

  4.  - Wedding Planner
